This session will discuss how using a popular medium can help students understand that critical evaluation is not relegated to the classroom, and heighten their awareness of how they are affected by advertising. Participants will assume the role of students and, under the facilitation of the session leader, work through a group assignment that uses Super Bowl commercials to increase critical evaluation skills and identify how values are shaped by the media.
