Dr. Heidi Skurat Harris is an Associate Professor of Rhetoric and Writing and the Coordinator of Graduate Programs in Professional and Technical Writing at the University of Arkansas--Little Rock. Dr. Harris has taught courses in five different disciplines and at four types of higher-learning institutions in traditional face-to-face classrooms, hybrid classrooms, and online learning environments. She is the editor of The Bedford Bibliography of Research in Online Writing Instruction, and she teaches courses in online writing instruction, technical writing, and creative nonfiction.

Rebecca A. Glazier is an associate professor of political science in the School of Public Affairs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She has a PhD in political science from the University of California Santa Barbara. In addition to her research on religion and politics, she studies the scholarship of teaching and learning and has published articles on the efficacy of various teaching strategies, including simulations, satire, and smartphone apps. She is passionate about improving the quality of online education for college students. Dr. Glazier is the author of “Connecting in the Online Classroom: Building Rapport between Teachers and Students” (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2021), a book on the importance of making human connections to facilitate teaching and learning in online classes.
