5th HBCU Symposium on Rhetoric and Composition

October 5-6, 2023
Hosted by: Jackson State University
Sponsored by: Bedford/St. Martin’s (Macmillan)

This year's theme is
Re-imagining Activism, Literacy, and Rhetoric in a "Woke" White America.

By interrogating anti-racism in an era of woke whiteness, this conference hopes to re-envision activism, establish practices and pedagogies to combat racism, and place HBCUs at the forefront of these emerging solutions.
