- Integrating reading and writing strategies
- Labor-based grading

David Starkey
Professor of English, Emeritus, Santa Barbara City College
David's 30-year career as Professor of English includes more than ten years teaching corequisite composition courses in the “Express to Success” program at Santa Barbara City College. A former director of the Composition and the Creative Writing programs at SBCC, he is the author of Hello, Writer and Creative Writing, both published by Bedford/St. Martin's. David most recently edited and contributed to Teaching Accelerated and Corequisite Composition, a forthcoming collection published by Utah State University Press and featuring Peter Adams as well as other teacher-scholars from around the country.
