Justin Wolfers

Professor of Economics and Public Policy, University of Michigan

Justin Wolfers is a professor of economics and public policy at the University of Michigan, specializing in macroeconomics and applied microeconomics. His research covers unemployment, inflation, prediction markets, family economics, discrimination, and happiness. He is affiliated with several prestigious institutions, including the National Bureau for Economic Research, Brookings Institution, and the Peterson Institute for International Economics. Wolfers is a contributing columnist for the New York Times and frequently cited for his unbiased economic assessments. He holds a BA from the University of Sydney and an AM and PhD from Harvard University.

Joshua Hill

Product Manager of Data Science and AI Strategy, Macmillan Learning

Joshua Hill is the Product Manager of Data Science and AI Strategy at Macmillan Learning, where he uses his economics background to find optimal strategies for leveraging DS+AI to benefit educators and learners. Joshua earned a PhD in Economics from Middle Tennessee State University, where his research focused on behavioral, experimental, and labor economics. He previously taught principles courses at MTSU and Pikes Peak State College before joining Macmillan Learning to help create innovative and effective economics content for the higher education classroom. Following the rapid advancements in AI in late 2022, Joshua, along with a group of AI enthusiasts, spearheaded the development of Macmillan Learning’s new AI Tutor and Course Personalization Assistant.
