Join us for an evening with Sam Quinones, author of The Least of Us: True Tales of America and Hope in the Time of Fentanyl and Meth. Following the author talk and discussion, we will gather for drinks, desserts, and a book signing.
We look forward to engaging conversation and inspiration in this uniquely Chicago setting. Space is limited to the first 100 guests, all of whom will receive a copy of the author’s book and access to the event gallery and to the adjacent Mammals of Asia exhibit.

Stacey Waite is associate professor of English and graduate chair at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is the author of four collections of poetry: Choke (winner of the Frank O’Hara Prize for Poetry), Love Poem to Androgyny, the lake has no saint (Winner of the Snowbound Prize for Poetry), and Butch Geography. Waite is also the author of Teaching Queer: Radical Possibilities for Writing and Knowing.

Congratulations for receiving the 2023 CCCC Co-Exemplar Award!
Jonathan Alexander, Chancellor’s Professor of English and informatics, has received the 2023 CCCC Co-Exemplar Award, as chosen by the Conference on College Composition and Communication, a constituent organization within the National Council of Teachers of English. The CCCC Executive Committee presents the Exemplar Award to persons whose years of service represent the highest ideals of scholarship, teaching and service to the entire profession. Exemplar Awards recognize individuals whose work is national and international in scope and who set the best examples for the CCCC membership.
